Music always helps me feel better

I've always been the type to be moved by music. I believe music can be so powerful. There are some songs that make me feel elevated, lifted, and proud. It has a lot to do with the rhythm and the vibe, and when those songs play, it really helps me push through and get to that positive, productive state of mind.
Positive music clears the dark fog from my mind.

While positive music can be uplifting, it is quite the contrary for negative music so I have learned. There are some songs that remind me of people I miss, or take me back to a place in life where circumstances were bad or they remind me of somebody I do not like, and I do my best to actually avoid these songs if I can. I actually put great effort into filtering the amount of negativity I am exposed to for the sake of my mental well-being. There are times while in a depressed state, a certain negative song might speak to me in a relatable way which makes me feel better, but it's rare that it happens.
Music has always spoken to me in a very strong way. I mean there is so much of it out there and it all hits us in different ways. It's hard to stay mad when my favorite song comes on, and sometimes it's comforting to reminisce in memories of an old friend brought forth by a song. It is important to stay connected while depressed and music is such a large cornerstone of our culture and our generation, it's so expressive, it creates the perfect path for those who are suffering to find peace and happiness.
